Tajikistan assumes Chairmanship of the OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation

On 8 May 2019 the Republic of Tajikistan has officially started its Chairmanship of the OSCE Forum for Security Co-operation (FSC). The first Plenary Meeting of the FSC under the Tajik Chairmanship held in the Hofburg Palace, Vienna, during which the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan H.E. Zohir Saidzoda addressed the opening session.

In his speech, the Deputy Foreign Minister presented to the OSCE participating States the Program of Tajik Chairmanship which is focused both to the traditional issues covered by the FSC, such as management of the small arms and light weapons (SALW) and stockpiles of conventional ammunition (SCA), implementation of the UN Security Council Resolutions 1540 and 1325, and to the issues of politico-military aspects of regional security in Central Asia.
