Meeting between Mr. Sherkhon Salimzoda, Director of the Drug control Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and Mr. Yuri Fedotov, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime

On 19 March 2019, within the framework of the 62nd session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs Mr. Sherkhon Salimzoda, Director of the Drug control Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan has met with Mr. Yuri Fedotov, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

During the meeting, the parties have discussed the key issues of relations of the Republic of Tajikistan with the UNODC in combating drug trafficking, as well as prevention of transnational and national crime groups in the region.

Taking into account the unprecedented growth of opium poppy cultivation in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan the parties have noted the necessity of strengthening cooperation at the regional and global levels.
