On June 1 2016 the new portal for issuance of electronic visas “e-Visa”, (https://www.evisa.tj) which enables foreign citizens willing to enter the country with tourist or business visas to complete the electronic application and receive the electronic visa without visiting consulate representatives of Tajikistan abroad, commences its operation.

The electronic visa system «e-Visa» will allow foreign citizens to receive Tajikistan visa online, relieving them from necessity to stand in queues in Tajikistan consulates or at the border. The new system is designed to facilitate the process of obtaining a visa to Tajikistan by foreign citizens, increase the number of tourists visiting Tajikistan, as well as to simplify visa procedures for businessmen. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Aslov has participated and made a statement at the plenary session of the 22nd OSCE Ministerial Council Meeting started on 3 December 2015 in Belgrade, Serbia.

In his statement Minister Aslov has highlighted the position of Tajikistan on key issues of the OSCE Agenda, including the role of the OSCE in resolution of the Ukrainian crisis, reforming process in the Organization, urgency of taking joint efforts by the OSCE participating states on combating terrorism, illegal trafficking of drugs, weapons and people, strengthening security in Afghanistan, as well as promotion of equal dialogue among the OSCE participating states.

On July 10, 2015 the OSCE Informal High-Level Meeting was held in Helsinki Fiinland to mark 40th anniversary of Helsinki Final Act. Tajikistan was represented at this event by Permanent Representative to the OSCE and other International organizations in Vienna Mr. Ismatullo Nasredinov.

This event was initiated by Serbia as OSCE Chair in 2015 and hosted by Finland. Representatives of OSCE participating states and partners for co-operation took part at this metting.  

Informal high level meeting was held in the “Finland hall" where original signing of Helsinki Final Act took place in 1975.

The Delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan headed by Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Sirojidin Aslov participated at the 21th meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, held on 4-5 December 2014 in Basel, Switzerland.

During the First Session of the Ministerial Council on 4 December 2014  Foreign Minister of Tajikistan has delivered his statement.

Following two working sessions, the number of final decisions and declarations were adopted at the 2014 OSCE Ministerial Council.

Today, a wreath-laying ceremony was held with the participation of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon at the Eternal Flame in the Victory Park of the capital on the occasion of the 68th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.

In honor of the memory of the fallen in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, among which over 100 thousand persons were sent from Tajikistan, wreaths were laid firstly by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country Emomali Rahmon.

Today, the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Estonia Andrus Ansip. The issues of political, economic, trade, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation have been reviewed at the meeting. Both sides paid particular attention to the enhancement of economic, trade and investment cooperation, including with consideration of new opportunities for entering into the market of South Asia countries. The transit role of Estonia with its seaports has also been considered important. The development of interaction in the areas of hydropower, mining, light and food industries, as well as agriculture and tourism was defined as promising. In the morning on 11 April in Brussels President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with European Commissioner for Development Andris Piebalgs.

During the constructive talk an exchange of views was held on the ways to support Tajikistan in the implementation of projects for enhancement of energy, transport and communication infrastructure, agriculture, mining and food industry, as well as education, healthcare, social protection.

Andris Piebalgs stressed the willingness and interest of the European Commission in support of Tajikistan due to its strategic position and key role in Central Asia, as well as stated that he will take efforts for implementation of agreements reached during the numerous top-level meetings between Tajikistan and the European Union on these days.
