TAJIKISTAN BECAME A FULL MEMBER OF WTO

Dushanbe, March 4 (NIAT "Khovar".) – On March 2, 2013 the Republic of Tajikistan has officially joined the World Trade Organization (WTO). The process of accession of Tajikistan to WTO began in 2001. In 2010, Tajikistan was granted the status of an observer. Majlisi Namoyandagon of Majlisi Oli of Tajikistan has ratified the Protocol on 9 January in the last year. The protocol was signed by less than a month before – December 10, 2012 by the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and WTO Director-General Pascal Limy. At the beginning of January, the Parliament of the Republic of Tajikistan extended to the WTO Secretariat a protocol on accession of the republic to the WTO. February 4 representative of republic sent instrument of ratification of the Protocol on the accession of Tajikistan to the WTO Secretariat in the organization in Geneva. Tajikistan was the second republic in Central Asia after Kyrgyzstan to join the WTO.
